A recent browser security study found Firefox lacking in several critical areas of security. The study was done by an independent company, Accuvant, but paid for by Google.

Most notable is the lack of or ineffectiveness of Firefox's sandboxing, plug-in security and JIT hardening.

Chrome came out on top with Internet Explorer not far behind.
