jPlayer is open-source and hosted on GitHub.
I wish my project today could use this!
Why can't it?
I love jPlayer. I built a custom music player implementation on the website for my new music festival - check it out at http://whatthefestival.com
jPlayer is the best. For me, one problem with HTML5 video is that you have to find somewhere to host 2 video files per instance if your server doesn't have the space...
Have either of you checked out JWPlayer?
No, but now I might. jPlayer has a Flash fallback too, so they appear to be similar, but if JWPlayer is easier to style...
From what I could tell JPlayer's big strength is that it's open source. But come back and let us know if you play with JWPlayer. I'd be interested to hear what you think of it in comparison to JPlayer.
Last time I used JPlayer was for a whole load of audio files within a web-based presentation. I imagine JWPlayer must also manage audio, but it doesn't seem to feature it? If I had time I'd do a comparison, as JWPlayer also handles CDN-specific video code... which sounds interesting.
Yea, JWPlayer looked geared towards video only. But I never looked into it in depth.
