In the latest nightly build Firefox no longer displays favicons in the address bar. A Mozilla developer's blog states that the reason is fraudulent sites displaying a padlock icon as their favicon to fool users into thinking the site uses SSL.

Chrome has already stopped displaying favicons in the address bar.
