The much anticipated Facebook app store is launching and it's called the App Center. Instead of featuring only HTML5 apps has some sites had rumored it will instead feature apps from all platforms (iOS, Android, HTML5, client-side, etc.) as long as they use Facebook in some way.

The intent is to drive installs and usage of these apps and encourage developers to create more apps with or add Facebook integration to existing apps.

Oh, thats not bad. I thought it was going to be another AppStore. A central listing of apps that use facebook is useful though.

Yea, they're getting some criticism for it being more of a showcase than an app store. But I think this is a first step. If they ever release a Facebook OS this will evolve.

Now I feel rewarded for procrastinating on finishing that FB app I started last year!
