Arno Gourdol of Adobe talks about the current state of web standards and how they are able to replace roughly 80 percent of what you can do with Flash. It's good to hear Adobe being so involved in HTML5/CSS3.

I think Adobe are so active here because they've seen the writing on the (Flash) wall and don't want to miss the boat. What this indicates is that us practitioners can steer or even drive a process where large companies make bold moves (Apple iOS no-Flash) and others follow (Adobe), by illustrating how evolving web technologies can be used.

It's exciting to see web standards becoming the, um, standard. ;) And proprietary technologies are falling by the wayside.
