CodeAcademy just added Python, in case you haven't already learned it or (like me) are addicted to lesson-based learning sites...
Excellent. I actually have been thinking about this recently.
It's a nice language, and I had a long flirtation with Django (but fell out over deployment, which takes some setting up, but that's probably just me).
The Python gotcha I encountered was when - in two separate sessions - I indented with spaces as well as tabs in the same code block. Because there were no obvious errors in my code and I didn't have the editor's 'show invisibles' turned on, it took ages to find out why it wouldn't run! Python (AFAIK) doesn't mind spaces (preferred in the Python style guide) or tabs, but hates both...
