I know there are other tools out there for reminding myself of things, sending myself links to remember. Bookmarkimg links never seemed to work for me. I'd forget about the bookmark and would not spend time organizing my bookmarks. The quick and dirty way is for me to email a link to myself and mark it as priority so it's in front of me, like a post-it note on my desk.

I used to do the same thing before but I've been using Chrome apps (scribble, quick note) to save my notes, important bookmarks and events. I've also created different bookmark folders in the bookmark toolbar for easy access.

I do it too. And anyone that wants me to remember something I tell them to email me. I flag all those emails, and I frequently look at just the flagged ones on my phone. Its the best system for me so far.

+1 I do the same thing. My Gmail account always has a few "Check this out" or "Take back RedBox movie" emails from myself. ;)

But in the last 12 months I've started using Instapaper. I bought the app before boarding a long flight and it worked great for that. So I installed the bookmarklet on my iPhone and then a while later I installed the bookmarklets on my browsers.

Now whenever someone sends me an article to read, like Sarah did the other day, I open the link and mark it to "Read Later" with the bookmarklet. This way I don't have to fill up my inbox with reminders to read x, y, z.

I also stop myself from reading a lot of articles throughout the day by saving them to read later too.

Then at the end of the day when I'm winding down I have a bunch of good articles to read, that I can't forget about. BTW: You can also do this with YouTube videos, etc. (mixed media)

But if there's a site that I want to remember to check out or a quick to do task I can't forget I do still email myself that.

I used to use Gmail for reminders. Lately I've been using https://trello.com/ instead.

Definitely switched to trello now also. Even started using it as a bug tracker.

I like the concept of Trello a lot. Though for tasks and reminders I've been using Wunderlist.
